
The “Mali Skrzypnianie” Highlander Team from Skrzypne has been active for more than 46 years, presenting the folklore of the Podhale highlanders. It brings together children and schoolchildren.
It participates in numerous competitions, festivals of local and national range winning prizes and awards such as second place in the category of dance groups at the National Festival “Child in Folklore” in Baranów Sandomierski, Silver Kierpce (“Silver Slippers”) at the VIII Tatra Festival of Highland Groups “Golden Kierpce” (“Golden Slippers”) in Zakopane and numerous awards at local competitions: Przeziyracka Młodych Toniecnikow i Śpiywokow Góralskich (Young Dancers and Singers Highlander |Competition) in Ratułów, Konkurs Młodych Toniecnikow (Young Dancers Competition) in Biały Dunajec, Muzykowanie na Duchową Nutę (Music on a Spiritual Note) in Czarny Dunajec, Papieska Majowka in Bachledówka (Pope’s May Day). The team operates at the Municipal Center, Culture, Promotion and Tourism in Szaflary and at the Primary School in Skrzypne. Currently, the band’s instructors are Anna Mrowca and Paweł Skupień. Instrumental lessons are taught by Bartłomiej Fatla.
