On Friday afternoon, at the ‘Czerwony Dwór’ Native Culture Center, a promotion event of the ‘My domain’ and ‘Towards autumn’ books by Józef Pitoń was held. The colorful and humorous stories of Mr. Józef were accompanied by the performance of the Klimek Bachleda band – the band which the author was a devoted member of for many years. The film ‘The Restless Spirit of Józef Pitoń’ moved and entertained the audience. In the film, we saw Mr. Pitoń sharing his many memories and interesting stories from his colorful life.
After the film was over, the Klimek Bachleda band played the ceremonial ‘Happy Birthday’ for Mr. Pitoń. The audience joined the celebration and Mrs. Agnieszka Nowak-Gąsienica, Deputy Mayor of Zakopane, handed flowers to Mr.Pitoń.
The film was made as part of the FILMOTEKA MAŁOPOLSKA program financed by the Małopolska Voivodeship. The producer of the film is TVP3 Kraków, the co-producer and program operator is the SOKÓŁ Małopolskie Centrum Kultury in Nowy Sącz.
The International Festival of Highland Folklore has been organized under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Mr. Andrzej Duda and the President's Wife, Mrs. Agata Kornhauser-Duda.
