Yesterday evening, the artists of the 53rd International Festival of Highland Folklore took part in the ‘To The Folk Note’ concert. The audience was taken for a journey to the corners of Hungary by a special guest, a violin virtuoso - Roby Lakatos.

The guest star of the concert was Mrs.Anna Wandtke - an outstanding Polish violinist, soloist and chamber musician, an artist highly appreciated by Mr.Lakatos. The two violin virtuosos were accompanied by many extraordinary soloists. One of the leading Hungarian cymbalists of the young generation - Julius Csik - played the concert cymbals. Next to him, a virtuoso and an improviser - Kalman Cseki sat at the piano. The accordion was played by the versatile Gdańsk accordionist, soloist - Paweł Zagańczyk. The double bass was played by Sebastian Wypych - an outstanding artist / virtuoso known to the Polish audience, soloist, chamber musician, experimenter and founder of many bands. He also conducted the excellent Beethoven Academy Orchestra and the entire concert.

During this magical, nostalgic journey to the world of Hungarian Puszta, we had a chance to listen to pieces of film music, oriental music, world music and wonderful open improvisations.
