The “Małe Regle” Folk Ensemble from Poronin

The “Małe Regle” Folk Ensemble is the children's group of the “Regle” Folk Ensemble named after Jan Jędrol from Poronin.
The parent ensemble, “Regle,” was founded on 23 March 1974 at the initiative of Tadeusz Galica, Head of the Poronin Municipal Office, during a meeting of the Municipal Cultural Centre Council. Jan Jędrol became the first director and instructor of the original 24-member group. The ensemble performed continuously until 1981, when its activities were suspended.
“Regle” was reactivated on 16 February 2001 through the efforts of local community leaders and enthusiasts dedicated to preserving Highland culture. Today, the ensemble operates under the patronage of the Poronin Branch of the Podhale Highlanders Association.
From 2001 to 2023, the ensemble was led by Maria Dawidek, a highly respected community activist, local government representative, and mentor to generations of young Highlanders. Since 2023, the ensemble has been directed by Maciej Dziubas.
“Regle” actively participates in local cultural events, including Poroniańskie Lato (Poronin Summer Festival) and Poroniańskie Śpasy, while also representing Podhale abroad. The ensemble has performed in Lithuania, Türkiye, Canada, Portugal, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Serbia, promoting the rich traditions of the Polish Highlands to international audiences.
